2015 Fithian Leadership Award

2015 Fithian Award Recipient: Randy Fox, CGRC, PGDC

Randy Fox has a long history of supporting and serving the philanthropic community through both his professional and volunteer efforts focused on philanthropy. He is a nationally known wealth strategist, philanthropic estate planner, educator and speaker dedicated to helping individuals, professional advisors, charitable institutions and planned giving organizations do well while doing good. His collaborative approach facilitates clients’ ability to preserve and transform wealth in ways that honor their goals and passions while passing values, responsibility and stewardship ethics to their heirs.

Randy is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the Planned Giving Designed Center, a  web based service providing philanthropic planning education to both non-profit and for-profit professionals active in the planned giving arena.  The PGDC is an invaluable resource to all professionals who work with donors, helping them to become more effective with their philanthropy. He is also the regional representative for Charitable Giving Resource Center, a national consultancy serving non-profits by providing education and guidance in strengthening their financial infrastructure.

Prior to  his work at the PGDC and CGRC,  Randy spent several years as the co-founder of  InKnowVision, LLC, a national consulting firm.  InKnow Vision skillfully injects philanthropic planning strategies into the estate and financial plans being presented to donors by various professional advisors who use InKnowVision to help develop very sophisticated plans to help donors achieve their objectives for themselves, their families and their communities.   These plans have helped to implement hundreds of millions of dollars in current and planned gifts to charities all over the U.S.

In Randy's volunteer life he has served on several non-profit boards.   He was instrumental in merging the National Association of Philanthropic Planners (NAPP) and the National Association of Family Wealth Counselors (NAFWC) into what is now the International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy (AiP). In fact, Randy was elected to serve as the first President of the newly formed AiP, and served on the board for a number of years after his term as president . He continues to serve as a resource in program and conference development for AiP.

Said former Fithian Award Recipient and AiP Past President Johnne Syverson, "I know of no one more dedicated to serving the field of philanthropy than Randy Fox, and am proud to nominate him."

Randy will be honored at the Fithian Awards Dinner, part of AiP's Conference on Philanthropy on Monday, April 27, 2015 at Loew's Chicago O'Hare.
