Lori Coonen

 

 Lori Coonen is a Heritage Design Professionalâ„¢ with The Heritage Institute, Portland, OR.  She works with families who want to strengthen their connection, communication skills and stewardship now and in the future.  Lori has over twenty years of experience in working with families. 

Her focus is on strengthening families and connecting generations by guiding clients to imagine and describe the legacy they want to live now and the legacy they wish to leave.  To achieve those outcomes for the family, Lori helps prepare the family and their heirs through intergenerational mentoring and coaching along with facilitating family meetings to create a culture of communication and trust that supports multi-generational family unity. In the process she builds and facilitates fully collaborative teams that include the clients and their other professional advisors. 

As the Director of Education for The Heritage Institute, Lori coordinates the training in the discipline of Heritage Design, and professional certification in The Heritage Process.TM    She mentors and partners with members of the THI Community who provide heritage design services to their client families. 

Lori received her CFP from the College of Financial Planning, Denver, CO; Bachelor of Science - Carroll College, Waukesha, WI and has earned her Advanced Leader Bronze (ALB) and Competent Communicator (CC) Awards from Toastmasters.  She is a member of the Fox Valley Estate Plan Council, International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy and ToastMasters International.  Lori is a lifelong learner and in her free time she enjoys playing sports, reading, watching her favorite NFL team - the Green Bay Packers, driving and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles with her husband, Roland and their daughter, Miranda. Lori volunteers at Miranda's school and is actively involved in her church and with several other community organizations.
