Storytelling for Deepening Philanthropic Connections
What We Learn from Donor Story Videos

Presenter: Elissa Leif, CEO, MiniMatters Video + Marketing (www.minimatters.com)

These days many of us have come to recognize the effectiveness of storytelling in marketing, sharing the world of our organizations or services more vividly to entice donors, customers and prospects. However, in the world of philanthropy, storytelling also has great value for helping donors and clients to articulate the meaning and significance of their lives, thereby deepening key philanthropic connections.

Join us on this webinar to gain an intimate view of the motivations and passions of a variety of planned giving donors across diverse institutions—as seen through videos these donors have crafted with the collaboration of the institutions they support. In the process, you’ll learn/experience:

·       Key research that connects storytelling and legacy giving

·       Donor stories from a variety of legacy donors with diverse philanthropic motivations and causes they support

·       Examples of language that donors use (and you can use too) to talk about philanthropy

·       Ways you can encourage storytelling to support your donors and clients in their philanthropy.

By helping donors and clients articulate their stories—the key life experiences that led them to develop their philanthropy and how their stories connect with organizations and causes that are their greatest passions—you’ll excel in your own work, providing an enormous personal benefit to your donors and clients.
