Join AiP San Francisco / Bay Area! "What’s New? Reflections on Trends, Challenges, and Opportunities from a Nonprofit Leader, Community Foundation Professional, and Financial Advisor" Wednesday, November 8, 2023 5:00 - 7:00 pm PT JAX Vineyards 326 Brannan Street, San Francisco, CA 94107 |
About the program... Join us for an evening of learning, networking, and comradery with old colleagues and new friends. The Pandemic made regular chapter gatherings a challenge, but we’re intent on breathing new life into our AiP chapter! In a facilitated panel discussion, we will hear from folks across three different professions: a nonprofit leader (Alexandra Morgan – Executive Director, Family House), a community foundation professional (Pamela Doherty – Senior Director of Gift Planning, The San Francisco Foundation), and a financial advisor (Shane Jacksteit, Edward Jones). What trends are they seeing in their work as it relates to charitable planning and philanthropy? What challenges are they facing and what opportunities are they excited about as we wrap up 2023 and head into 2024? There will be plenty of time for audience questions and engagement. We invite you to bring a few friends and colleagues to this evening of light bites, wine, and engaging conversation. As well, we will talk about ideas we have for this chapter in 2024 and share opportunities for chapter leadership.

Recently retired as the CEO of Family House for the past 22 years where she grew the organization and expanded capacity threefold. Prior to her work at Family House, Morgan held various leadership positions at Summerbridge National, Golden Gate University, the Asian Art Museum and the Foundation for Religious Understanding where she organized conferences for the Dalai Lama. Pamela started her career in the field of advertising and public relations. She holds a Masters in Public Health, and is currently working on a Life Coach certification. Shane Jacksteit – Financial Advisor, Edward Jones As a philanthropic wealth advisor team based in Silicon Valley, we empower families and non-profit organizations to support innovative solutions to the most enduring social and sustainability challenges in their communities. By providing personalized strategies and guidance, we partner with our clients to make a meaningful and lasting impact on the world. I'm passionate about serving our local community. Co-chairing a successful $20,000,000 capital campaign for Sunnyvale Community Services inspired me to pursue a philanthropy-driven practice. This opportunity expanded my appreciation for the hard work of charitable organizations; effective non-profits are the solution to the problems no one else is willing to take on. This was also reinforced while serving as the past president of the board for the Sunnyvale Chamber of Commerce, in my role as a Rotarian and an active philanthropist in our community. I'm dedicated to continual learning and development. I completed my undergraduate education at Vanguard University of Southern California. I have earned the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and Accredited Asset Management Specialist™ and Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor™ designations. I continue to enrich myself through ongoing learning by attending industry and charitable-specific conferences and training programs. My team's established process helps us identify and understand what’s most important to the families and organizations we serve. We partner with our clients and their financial teams to develop personalized strategies to help them achieve their most important goals. My team is incredible. I partner with Vera Mae Laver and Marcos Montanez as Branch Office Administrators in our practice. They are committed to serving our clients and community with excellence. Outside of the office, you can usually find me with my wife, Kim, and our beautiful daughter. In our spare time, we may be planning our next vacation or camping trip or walking our rescue dog, Charlie. |
