Supporting Local Communities: Maximizing Philanthropic Impact by Investing in Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs)

This webinar is targeted towards AIP members looking to help philanthropies maximize their impact through targeted community investment programs. We’ll cover the lifecycle of a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) investment from idea to execution. CDFIs are mission-driven lenders that can help an organization further its philanthropic mission through investments in underserved communities. Attendees can expect actionable advice geared to help both experienced and new CDFI investors.

Presenters are all practitioners with extensive community investment experience. They include Mark Doherty, Director of Investments at San Francisco Foundation, Sheri Flanigan-Vazquez, Chief Investment Officer at Justine PETERSEN (a CDFI), and Catherine Berman, Co-founder of CNote an impact investing platform that streamlines the CDFI investment process.

Attendees will leave knowing what CDFIs are, what they do, who they serve, and how they can help maximize organizational impact through targeted community investment programs. Join us in learning about ways philanthropies can leverage investment to support underserved communities through proven, federally-certified, community lenders.
