You already know the value of philanthropic planning when it comes to helping your clients live a meaningful life and shape their legacy. As a trusted advisor, you can make a huge difference for your clients, their families, and for deserving communities, organizations, and causes close to home and around the world. The Effective Philanthropy team at the Stanford Center on Philanthropy & Civil Society has spoken with hundreds of advisors and their clients, identifying challenges, expectations, and opportunities for better philanthropic engagement. This 2-part workshop will introduce you to the core principles of effective philanthropy and demonstrate how it can be used within a clear, practical planning framework with your clients.
Topics include: engaging others, involving family members in a philanthropic giving conversation, finding and vetting organizations, and making and tracking gifts. You will also have ample time for Q&A to address the challenges and opportunities you face in your work. In addition: Upon successful completion of both sessions, you will be able to apply for CE Credit and you’ll receive a Statement of Accomplishment from Stanford’s Effective Philanthropy Learning Initiative. - You will get a free year of AiP membership - $300 value (if you are not currently a member).
You will get a 50% discount on the Toolkit. You will be introduced to a growing network of professional resources.
Your participation will support the education programs at AIP and continued research at Stanford University’s lab dedicated entirely to supporting philanthropic best practices among high-capacity donors, their families, and their ecosystem of advisors.
Workshop Structure:
Session 1: Tuesday, March 23, 2021 and Session 2: Wednesday, March 24, 2021 (12:00-2:30pm ET / 9:00-11:30am PT) These live and interactive sessions will cover various modules within the Toolkit. March 23 will cover how to effectively use peer and expert networks, and engage family members in a philanthropic giving conversation. March 24 will address finding and vetting organizations, making and tracking gifts, and philanthropic budgeting. This is a great chance to experience the Effective Philanthropy method and the Toolkit before using them with your clients.
You have the power to shape the future of effective philanthropy. We look forward to learning from you, learning with you, and helping you deliver best practices and outstanding services for your clients. View FAQs here. Additional question? Email admin@advisorsinphilanthropy.org.
