Cancellation of AiP Conference on Philanthropy 2020

Dear International Association of Advisors in Philanthropy members and friends:

On behalf of the AiP Board of Directors, we hope that you, your family and your company are doing well and staying healthy in this new reality.  I cannot tell you how excited we were to bring you the 2020 National AiP Conference in San Francisco. Our Board and conference committee did an amazing job identifying incredible talent and we were so excited to convene and share exceptional learning in the city that leads so many philanthropic efforts.

Having said that, we must put the safety of our members as the highest priority. Recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control including recent actions taken in California by Governor Newsom, and locally in San Francisco, made it clear to our board that we must cancel the AiP Conference on Philanthropy originally scheduled for May 18-20, 2020 in San Francisco, CA.

Due the uncertain nature of this disease and what the coming months will bring, AiP will not be hosting a conference in 2020. Our Board will be looking for creative solutions to deliver the content we would have experienced at the conference. We would like to invite you to participate with us in this new journey. We welcome all suggestions. Our next step will be to convene a team to explore creative options. If you would like to participate, please let us know.

If you are a speaker, sponsor, or already registered attendee, you should have received a separate email with additional information. If for some reason you did not receive that email, or have additional questions, please contact AiP Executive Manager, Lauren Smigelski, at 216-621-3215 or via email at admin@advisorsinphilanthropy.org.

We are excited to announce and hope to see you in Washington, DC for the AiP Conference on Philanthropy 2021 scheduled for May 26-28, 2021 at the Washington Marriott at Metro Center. Our intention is to return to San Francisco in 2022.

Thank you for your commitment to AiP; we share the same values, passions, and commitment to making more of an impact in our communities by leveraging a philanthropic conversation with our clients/donors.  That good work is even more important in today’s disrupted, somewhat surreal environment.

With gratitude,
Marty Dutch
