Yale Levey and Michael Searcy were interviewed to be featured financial advisors in the newly released book The Trust Equation: The Savvy Investors Guide To Selecting a Competent, Ethical Financial Advisor
Integrity is probably the single most important comonent from which our clients, our peers, our friends and our family gauge their comfort with us. It serves as a catalyst for trust. The more people recognize the integrity within me, the more trust and comfort they'll have in me, my company and my recommendations. In that regard, integrity, trust and my ab ility to be a valuable tool for my clients are permanently intertwined. Integrity is the key that unlocks the door, behind which lies all of the knowledge we, as planners, need to best serve those who place their trust in us.
The higher the level of trust a client has in me, the more they share with me. The more they share with me, the more I'm able to serve them. The more I'm able to serve them, the more significant the impact I can make in their lives. And, making a poitive impact in the lives of those I serve and their families is why I'm in this business.
For these reasons, integrity is one of the single most important values I can have. Without it, I'm nothing. To that end, it serves as the fuel which powers the engine of my business.
In work and in life, to get the best results, you must engage the most excellent people. I have learned that the most excellent people are also people of high integrity. Integrity means doing the right thing even when the price is painful or one's personal interest is at risk. It means doing the right thing even when you are certain that no one is looking, and you could not possibly get caught should you choose not to do the right thing. It also means doing the right thing even when you are sure there will not be a reward or you will not receive any credit for your actions.
During, the 30 years I have served as a financial advisor, I have continuously endeavored to:
(1) achieve excellence in the level and quality of service that we provide to our clients,
(2) meet clients wherever they are and to help them get to where they want to be,
(3) faithfully pursue knowledge and grow both personally and professionally,
(4) always deal with honesty and integrity in every situation.
Life is full of choices and a person of high integrity will choose to put their clients' best intersts ahead of their own.
