AiP President's Letter
To all Members and Friends of AiP:
As many of you know, we just came away from a very successful Conference on Philanthropy 2010. Our attendance was up over 30% from last year and we had a record number of first-time attendees, all of whom had many positive comments to share during our two-days together in Chicago.
Many accolades go to Sally Alspaugh, Conference Chair, and her committee of hard-working volunteers that made this experience the best it could be. Keynote Speakers and Breakout Presenters came from a vast spectrum of experienced professionals throughout North America—from New England to Honolulu. The conference was held at the Intercontinental Hotel O’Hare and the venue was outstanding! If you were one of the 182 attendees, I am sure, you will agree.
If you missed the conference this year, we encourage you to order all the presentations on CD! There was a great deal of wisdom and insight shared in
all the presentations. You can
place your order on the website.
LOOKING FORWARD:
Your AiP Board of Directors is currently focusing on delivering the highest value “AiP experience” through the remainder of 2010 and throughout 2011! Much of the “AiP experience” will be delivered through the local Philanthropic Advisors Networks (PANs) across North America.
• We currently have a PAN affiliation in Denver, Seattle, New York City, Vancouver (BC), and Los Angeles.
• Newer PAN’s (in organizational phase) include Portland, Sacramento, St. Louis, New Orleans, Chicago, Cleveland, and Cincinnati. We expect to have at least five new PANs up and operating by year-end.
PLEASE JOIN US:
• If you live in any of the cities mentioned above, I encourage you to get involved and spread the word about the Conference on Philanthropy 2010 to your local PAN members. You will hear more about this as your Board refines our focus and our deliverables through these PANs in the months ahead. I challenge you to organize a PAN in your community and share the “AiP experience” 3-4 times per year.
• Then top it off with the Conference on Philanthropy 2011 in Chicago next April. We fully expect to see another 30% increase in our attendance again.
Through your passionate and collective collaboration, we all look forward to the next 12 months with anticipation, excitement, and energy.
You will hear more specific action steps from your Board in the weeks ahead. In the meantime, ask yourself, “How do I want to get involved?”
Very sincerely yours,

Alan W. Pratt, AiP President
