We're a little more than a month away from our annual conference-the one time during the year when we are all under the same roof sharing ideas, insights and inspiration. If you haven't yet decided to attend this year's conference, take a look at the agenda and you'll discover an outstanding program. There is not another program like this anywhere. Don't miss out.
Now that we have a year of history behind our merged organizations, I am proud to say that the union is a success. There is no more "us and them," only a "we." The two cultures have become one and we are pulling in the same direction. That does not mean that we are without challenges. The need for membership retention and new members is as great as ever. None of us wants to look back on the unification as simply a way of buying time and a staving off of an inevitable collapse. Membership is vital to the organization. Participation is vital to the organization. Volunteerism is vital to the organization. Remember always that this is your group. It's not just the responsibility of the board to provide leadership; it is your responsibility as well. If you want AiP to survive take it upon yourself to help in whatever way you can. Join a committee or recruit a new member. All ideas are welcome.
There is much value to be had as a member of AiP, from educational teleconferences to a group of members that will gladly take your phone call or answer your email to answer your questions and help you succeed. We have a huge and vital mission. One that is bigger than all of us. Please keep it alive.
Respectfully,
Randy Fox
