As we approach the end of the year, it is normal to reflect on the year past and to look at the future with anticipation. This year it seems especially important to note the accomplishments of our new organization. Not only have we survived the merger of the two independent groups that have been brought together, we've prospered. All of the fears of "different cultures" and "separate identities" have disappeared into a single, unified organization that has more of a future than a past. As with anything newly created, we have much to be proud of and much left to be accomplished. It will be up to membership to identify the future direction of the group. It will be up to leadership to implement that vision.
The first of December, the current board will spend two days thinking about what the future direction of the organization ought to be. It will be an opportunity to dream and dream big. It will also require continued hard work and dedication. These efforts always do. I am proud of what we've accomplished and thankful for all who have dedicated their time and their talent to the effort. Our future is bright.
